The romance is incredibly well done and heart wrenching. There were times where I felt the pacing slowed down too much for my preference, but not long enough that I set the book aside to read something else. But Kacey’s relationship with her band, her life choices, and Jonah’s art installation are all solid subplots that help drive the main plot. Kacey knows what she’s getting into, but like the reader, she’s still not prepared for the ending.Īs a romance, the main plot is the relationship between Jonah and Kacey. Stronger feelings develop, but because of Jonah’s health issues, he keeps her at arm’s length, but only for so long. After Jonah rescues Kacey from her partying ways, their friendship is easy and natural. Jonah and Kacey are soulmates, that becomes evident as the story unfolds.
